Heanor's new business and community space

The Grammar

What is The Grammar?

The Grammar is a former school building, built in 1912 to support the continual evolution of the education system. Over the years, education moved to alternative sites and The Grammar fell into a state of disrepair.

Now it's back as a central asset in the middle of Heanor to serve as:

  • A business hub - small business units are available to hire on short or long terms
  • An events space - an old hall, from the Edwardian era has been restored to create an amazing events space
  • A community asset - the public can enjoy the grounds and tours of the building, with a community rate card available to encourage community events

The Grammar has been restored to a high standard. It stood for 100 years before renovation, and is intended to stand for hundreds more.
